I enjoy all web tools that let me create impressive cartoon icons and avatars. In these tools I particularly enjoy tools that let us create icons resembling the cartoons or animations we already know. For example I have been using and having fun with the Avatar icon creator, the South Park icon creator, and the Simpsons icon creator a lot. Creating an icon that looks like you as well as a popular cartoon often has amusing results that are fun to share with your friends.

Adding to the list of these tools is the wonderful “Androidify.”

Androidify is both, similar and different, to the abovementioned tools. The difference is that while the abovementioned tools are browser-based online applications, Androidify is a smartphone application compatible with Android devices. The similarity is that the app lets you create a cartoon version of yourself; in this case, the cartoon version is in the style of the Android robot.

You start by downloading the application that is sized at nearly 1.4MB. Next you start with a basic image; you stretch the image, shrink it, add a hoody, style its hair, throw on some shades, or do whatever else you can to make the icon look like you or a friend. The customization options available are quite impressive.
You can customize the final icon to look like anybody you want.

Your created icons can be shared with friends or be assigned to contacts in your phonebook.

The application is a wonderfully fun idea that its users are thoroughly enjoying.

Being a blogger myself, I know how important it can be to size down images. I often have to resize images so that they fit within the site layout. But the problem with resizing images is keeping their quality intact. The quality almost invariably goes down each time you resize an image.

Fortunately however, I have found a freeware program that has helped resize images while maintaining a picture quality that is viewable. This freeware is “Resize Magic.”

Resize Magic is a freeware compatible with Windows computers. The freeware comes as a standalone application although it can also be downloaded as a paid plug-in for Photoshop. The setup file for the standalone application is nearly 1MB large and installs in a jiffy.

After you have the program installed and running, you can reduce the sizes of JPEG image files while greatly maintaining picture quality. You can select a source folder and then batch resize the images.

Resizing can be done by specifying the width, height, or percentage of the image’s size. You can also select the detailed interpolation settings from Smoother, Normal, or Sharper.

Resize Magic can be downloaded from its official website

HP officially announced the name of their newest tablet after so many names coming before it. HP TouchPad is a 10 inch tablet with WebOS as its operating system and it means that another new OS has coming in tablet world (Android, iOS, Windows 7 and WebOS).

Talking about hardware, HP Touchpad has great specifications. Begin with the processor, Dual Core 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon and memory of 1 GB RAM which as the same as Motorola Xoom and Blackberry Playbook. For the sofware (OS), it might be the most difference to the others as the operating system using
WebOS which been used before for HP Palm Pre mobile phone.

Frankly, WebOS is not really familiar except that this OS is multitasking and less application offered. However if you have mobile phone with the same OS as Playbook, siynchronisation between the two gadget is very easy. HP Touchpad will be launched officially in the next few day.
