Lenovo LePad Launch Date Revealed

Lenovo will launch its LePad Android tablet in worldwide in June following a late March ship date in China.
At the LePad unveiling at CES, Lenovo reps claimed the LePad would cost between $399 and $449.

The LePad Lenovo showed off at CES was a 10.1-inch tablet (1280 x 800) running Android Froyo (2.2) and a custom Lenovo skin, and Lenovo reps wouldn't comment on a possible Honeycomb upgrade. It featured a 1.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, two-megapixel front-facing camera, SIM slot, and a headphone jack. Lenovo claimed the LePad would support Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, 3G and Flash 10.1.

The LePad also doubled as the screen portion of the IdeaPad U1 hybrid laptop, first announced at CES 2010, that includes base that enables the Android-powered LePad slate to dock and become a notebook, complete with full QWERTY keyboard. The Dock also has a separate 1.2GHz processor and runs Windows 7 with the LePad functioning s the display. Additionally, when docked, users will also have a USB port and an HDMI out at their disposal.


Lenovo has not disclosed the release date for the U1 dock.
