CTIA Wireless 2011 has kicked-off with Nokia announcing its new Astound smartphone which is set to be released exclusively from T-Mobile USA beginning April 6.  The Nokia Astound is not a new Windows Phone as you might expect, but a Symbian-based smart phone that features an 8-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash and 720p HD video capture, a 3.5-inch capacitive touch AMOLED display, free turn-by-turn navigation from Nokia and access to thousands of free and paid apps via Nokia's Ovi Store. The device has three fully customizable home screens for accessing email, Facebook, Twitter, or the web browser, and it comes preloaded with games like Fruit Ninja, and the popular Slacker Radio music app.

The Nokia Astound will cost $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate card with a two-year service agreement and qualifying voice and data plan when it arrives at T-Mobile next month.
