With the holiday season upon us, everybody has a "must-have" item on their wish list, and your IT department is no different. As Shane Snider, executive vice president of IT at Shawnee Mission, noted in an interview with our sister site, SearchCIO-Midmarket, all he wants for Christmas is a little more mobile device management.
As the trend of employees using personal devices for work continues to increase, IT departments must be able to track, secure and protect corporate information on various devices, which are no longer limited to the RIM BlackBerry smartphone. Snider has met this issue head on, recently allowing access to email on employee personal devices by deploying mobile security software for iOS and Android devices.
