When you turn on your PC, the processor attempts to begin the process of processing data. But, since the system memory is empty, the processor doesn’t really have anything to execute, or even begin to know where to look for it. To ensure that the PC will always boot regardless of the BIOS code, both chip and BIOS manufacturers developed their code so that the processor once turned on, always starts executing at the same place, FFFF0h.  Every hard disk must have a consistent “starting point” where key information is stored about the disk, such as the number of partitions and what type they are. There also must be someplace where the BIOS can load the initial boot program that starts the process of loading the operating system. The place where this information is stored is called the master boot record (MBR).

When a computer starts and the BIOS boots the machine, it will always look at this first sector for instructions and information on how to proceed with the boot process and load the operating system. The master boot record contains the following structures:


Master Partition Table: This small table contains the descriptions of the partitions that are contained on the hard disk. There is only room in the master partition table for the information describing four partitions. Therefore, a hard disk can have only four true partitions, also called primary partitions. Any additional partitions are logical partitions that are linked to one of the primary partitions. One of the partitions is marked as active, indicating that it is the one that the computer should use for booting up.


Master Boot Code: The master boot record contains the small initial boot program that the BIOS loads and executes to start the boot process. This program eventually transfers control to the boot program stored on whichever partition is used for booting the PC

First of fall If you do have a Windows 7 Installation DVD its will be easier or if you don’t have you can alternatively use a Windows 7 System Recovery Disc. Now turn your computer on, booting from either your Windows 7 Installation DVD or Windows 7 System Recovery Disc.  After the installation or recovery disc loads, if prompted, select your language settings and then continue.  If you are using the installation DVD, when prompted by the following screen select Repair your computer.

Now after pressing repair button the computer will take a moment now to scan itself for any Windows installations, after which you will probably, be given a choice to select which installation you wish to repair.  Continue by selecting the suitable Windows installation from the list. Now you will see system recovery option screen. Here you will see some list of choices that can help you in repairing your operating system. Select the Startup Repair to let the pc fix the problem automatically. Now all those problems related to startup is fixed.
The master boot record is a “vulnerable spot exploited by viruses” due to its necessity of system booting. If your computer is compromised due to virus, then it’s necessary to run a MBR anti-virus check on the system before taking any further steps.

The HP TouchPad may match the Apple iPad 2 in at least one department: pricing. According to a leaked Walmart internal document, the 32GB TouchPad will cost $599 at launch, matching the 32GB Wi-Fi Apple iPad 2. There is no word on the pricing for the 16GB unit (Apple sells the 16GB iPad for $499), nor did the leak reveal the release date, which many assume will be in June.

The same leak also revealed a handful of HP TouchPad accessories. The TouchStone Dock and Stand, which will wirelessly charge the TouchPad, will cost $79.88.  Also revealed was a webOS Bluetooth keyboard for $69.88, official HP TouchPad case for $49.88, and an AC charger for $29.88.

The TouchPad packaging size was also leaked. It will reportedly measure 9.5 x 10 x 1.78 inches and weigh three pounds.

The HP TouchPad will have a 9.7-inch display with a 1024 x 768 resolution and run the webOS operating system complete with Flash support. It will weigh 1.5 pounds and be powered by a 1.2 GHz, dual-core Snapdragon processor. It will have dual cameras, b/g/n Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth 2.1.

Intel continues to assert that its chips will soon have a greater presence in tablets, and we may be seeing some proof of that come May 31, in the form of 10 new devices.



Looking to loosen competitor ARM Holdings' chokehold on tablet chips, Intel announced that it has plans to reveal 10 new tablets featuring its processors at the Computex show in Taipei, Taiwan at the end of this month. The new devices will feature Intel's latest chip -- the Atom Z670, an x86 architecture chip previously revealed as part of the Oak Trail line -- which is supposedly low-power and designed specifically with tablets in mind.

Even with the chips finally making an appearance in tablets, dealing with the competition is going to be a challenge for Intel, as it's coming to the game extremely late. Technology from ARM Holdings has since been adopted by big names such as Nvidia, Qualcomm, and Texas Instruments and is featured in a number of currently available devices.

In the meantime, Intel has been promising since last year that it will be getting in on the game, only to continuously delay its push into the market. But, should everything go according to schedule, tablets sporting the Z670 will begin to roll out over the course of the second half of 2011, shortly after their debut at Computex.

Tech accessory manufacturer Logitech has announced that it will soon be selling two new high-end tablet keyboard accessories, providing the potential to turn a tablet into more of a production device, rather than just a media consumption console.


Logitech Keyboard Case
The Logitech Keyboard case will be available exclusively for the iPad 2. It is a direct successor to the ZAGGmate Keyboard Case for the original iPad, and Logitech has decided to rebrand the product with its own moniker this time around.


The Logitech Keyboard Case features a unique design that fits over the front of the iPad 2. When being used as a keyboard, the case is detached and the iPad 2 is placed in a recess that props it up, allowing a user to view the screen while typing. The Logitech Keyboard Case connects over Bluetooth, and will cost $100.


Logitech Tablet Keyboard

Up until this point, I've personally seen Infinity Blade as a showcase piece for the iPad that lacks substance. It's beautiful and should be, given that it's powered by the Unreal Engine, but I always found the game to be a bit shallow.  The inherent restrictions of the platform made for only moderately entertaining, on-rails gameplay that became repetitive after a while, despite developer Chair's efforts to add some depth with a few RPG-like elements.

But along comes this big-time update for what many describe as the most popular game on the iPad -- between sales and critical reception -- and suddenly my opinion is starting to change. The update is free (though the game itself costs $6 from the Apple App Store) and the new content brings a whole new layer of depth and replayability to Infinity Blade.

With the update comes Survival mode, in which you face off against a series of Titans in succession, a slew of new items, and above all, an all-new multiplayer arena mode. In arena mode, you can face off against another player either locally or online, with one of you adopting the familiar role of the night, and the other playing as one of the game's massive Titan bosses. You switch roles after a best of seven series, but trust me: playing the Titan is a much more interesting experience.


SURVIVAL AND NEW ITEMS
The Survival Mode that is introduced in this update doesn't really bring anything new to the table; it's more of a rearrangement of existing content. As the name suggests, you duke it out with increasingly tough Titans for as long as you can on the same health bar before eventually biting the dust. Though you are not given any additional health from one Titan to the next, you are given the opportunity to buy upgrades that will ostensibly help you extend your run.



The gameplay here is identical to the single player campaign, as are the different enemies. If anything, this mode is best treated as a marathon practice mode where you can take some time to train against the different Titans so when you face off against them in single player, you'll run right through them.

To me, the new items were equally forgettable. Sure, it's nice to have a few new powerful items to work towards (some of them cost insane amounts of cash), but it's not like they really do anything different; they're just stat boosters. And after playing through enough of one Bloodline (and, in theory, finally earning enough cash to buy some of these new items), you're already powerful enough to run roughshod over most of your enemies anyway.

It is designed with Samsung’s brilliant Super AMOLED™ touchscreen technology providing a premium viewing experience. The 4-inch Contour Display features a curved design for a more comfortable look and feel in the user’s hand or along the side of the face. Sprint Nexus S 4G customers will be among the first to receive Android software upgrades and new Google mobile apps. In many cases, the device will get the updates and new apps as soon as they are available.

Nexus S 4G features a 5 megapixel rear-facing camera and camcorder and front-facing VGA camera. In addition, Nexus S 4G features a gyroscope sensor to provide a smooth, fluid gaming experience when the user tilts the device up or down or pans the phone to the left or right.

Nexus S 4G from Google will be available exclusively from Sprint this spring for $199.99 with a new two-year service agreement or eligible upgrade (taxes not included) in all Sprint retail channels, including the Web (www.sprint.com) and Telesales (1-800-SPRINT1), as well as select national retailers.

Sprint Nexus S customers also will be able to easily use their current Sprint wireless phone number as their Google Voice number without having to port their number, avoiding porting charges and potential service disruptions. Google Voice makes it easy for people to manage and access most of their voice-based communication. It lets users manage up to six different phones through one number with intelligent call routing and advanced features like call screening, blocking and recording.

Now Sprint subscribers can use their Sprint number across their office, home and wireless phones, and personalize settings so calls from friends ring their wireless device and home phone, while calls from the boss only ring at the office. Google Voice users can receive transcribed voicemails and read or listen to them online. They can also read, send and search text messages and call logs online at www.google.com/voice.
Nexus S 4G requires activation on one of Sprint’s Everything Data plans, plus a required $10 Premium Data add-on charge for smartphones. Sprint’s Everything Data plan with Any Mobile, AnytimeSM includes unlimited Web, texting and calling to and from any mobile in America while on the Sprint Network, starting at just $69.99 per month plus required $10 Premium Data add-on charge – a savings of $39.99 per month versus Verizon’s comparable plan with unlimited talk, text and Web (excluding Verizon’s Southern California plan; pricing excludes surcharges and taxes).

Sprint customers get more with unlimited data plans on the Sprint Network. Sprint offers real simplicity, value and savings versus competitors, making it easy for customers to get the most out of their phones without using a calculator to tally up costs or worrying about how much data they’ve used.

Sprint Everything Data plans qualify for automatic enrollment in the Sprint PremierSM loyalty program3. Existing Sprint customers can switch to an Everything Data plan without extending their service agreement. New lines of service require a two-year service agreement.
